Earn and spend bonus points
Class Spot gives you points for setting up your teaching and for inviting colleagues. Points come off your subscription payments automatically — 1 point = 1 US dollar.
Where to find your balance
Your balance sits in the top bar next to your profile, marked with the points icon. Click it to open the Earn points panel, which shows what you've already earned and what's still available.
For the full picture, open your profile menu and go to My bonuses. That page has your balance, the tasks you haven't finished yet, an Invite button, and your complete accrual history.
Earn points by setting up your teaching
Six one-time tasks, each paid the moment you complete it:
| What you do | You earn |
|---|---|
| Create your first class | 0.50 points |
| Get your first student to accept an invite | 1.00 point |
| Assign your first homework | 1.00 point |
| Add your first event to your schedule | 0.50 points |
| Run your first lesson (10 minutes or longer) | 0.50 points |
| Run 5 lessons of 30 minutes or longer in your first 30 days | 3.00 points |
Each task pays once, and only in your own personal account — if you're working inside a school or business workspace, these tasks don't count. The last one has a deadline: the 30 days run from the day you registered, and lessons shorter than 30 minutes don't count towards the five.
When a task completes, the points panel pops up to tell you. It stays out of your way during a lesson and on the board — you'll see it when you're back on a regular screen.
Earn points by inviting a colleague
- Open My bonuses and click Invite.
- Click Copy link — your personal link is now on your clipboard.
- Send it to your colleague however you like.
Your colleague gets 3 points as soon as they create their account through your link — they don't have to pay for anything first, and they can spend those points right away. Their welcome points are valid for 60 days from the day they register.
You get 5 points once that colleague pays for their first subscription. The points land in your balance 7 days after their payment, and we email you when they do.
One thing to tell your colleague: the link has to be what brings them to sign-up. If they register first and open your link an hour later, the invite no longer attaches — and neither of you gets the points.
Spend your points
You don't have to do anything to spend points. Whenever you're charged for a subscription, your available balance is applied as a discount automatically.
Two things to know before you save them up:
- This includes automatic renewals. If you have points on your balance when your plan renews, they're used on that renewal. There's currently no way to hold points back for a payment of your choosing.
- Points can't cover a payment in full. At least $1.00 always goes to your card.
Points can't be withdrawn, exchanged for money, or transferred to another account. And while you're on a free trial they aren't touched — they wait for your first real payment.
Points expire
Points are valid for 210 days from the day they're credited. The welcome points your invited colleague receives are the exception: those expire 60 days after they register.
We email you 14 days and again 3 days before anything is about to expire, so keep an eye on those. Your My bonuses page also shows an "Expiring soon" line whenever something is close.
If you didn't get points
- Your account is older than the program. Points are only awarded to accounts registered after we launched the program. Earlier accounts don't earn them retroactively.
- You're in a school or business workspace. The setup tasks only count in your personal account.
- The lesson was too short. The first-lesson bonus needs 10 minutes; the five-lesson bonus needs 30 minutes per lesson.
- You already completed that task. Each one pays once. Check your accrual history on My bonuses to confirm.
- The invite link came too late. It has to be used at sign-up, not after the account exists.
If none of these fit, write to us from the address on your account and mention roughly when the action happened — we can look up what the system recorded.
